Established in 1967, the University of Toronto Mississauga is one of three campuses of the University of Toronto, Canada’s largest university and leading research institution.
The university’s second-largest division, U of T Mississauga has 15 academic departments, an Institute of Communication, Culture and Information Technology, 148 programs and 89 areas of study. Its population numbers about 11,600 undergraduate students and 470 graduate students, along with 700 faculty and staff.
Though most degree options are at the undergraduate level, there is an increasing emphasis on graduate studies and U of T Mississauga is known for its interdisciplinary graduate programs designed to give students an edge in the workplace.
University of Toronto Mississauga has a vibrant research environment and many of its faculty and researchers are recognized internationally for their innovative work.
The campus also boasts a number of award-winning facilities, including the Hazel McCallion Academic Learning Centre—the $34-million library and information complex—and the Recreation, Athletics and Wellness Centre.
The campus is situated in the City of Mississauga on 225 acres of protected greenbelt along the Credit River, 33 kilometres west of U of T’s St. George downtown campus.
