About the employer

The Center for Child and Adolescent Mental Health, Eastern and Southern Norway (RBUP) is a foundation established in 1998 by the Ministry of Health and Care Services.

RBUP conducts research and provides post-graduate training. Our vision is to make a difference in the lives of children and their families.

The primary objective of the center is to strengthen the quality of mental health services relevant to children and youth. This is achieved by developing, disseminating, and implementing clinically-relevant, multidisciplinary, and scientific knowledge about child and adolescent mental health.

Important tasks are:

  • to conduct research
  • to stimulate mental health research through advising graduate students and by offering training to practitioners in the field
  • to ensure that clinical activities in the field of child and adolescent mental health are based on empirically derived knowledge.

Research areas of priority:

  • Intervention and prevention studies
  • Evidence-based assessment in clinical practice
  • Clinical research and epidemiology
  • Health services evaluation and implementation

The catchment area is Eastern and Southern Norway.

RBUP currently comprises a core group of about 60 persons, including teaching and research faculty, postdoctoral fellows, PhD students, and administrative staff. RBUP consists of the Department of Education, the Department of Research, the Network for Infant Mental Health and an administrative department.
