The Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine (FSTM) at the University of Luxembourg contributes multidisciplinary expertise in the fields of Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Life Sciences and Medicine.

Your role

The successful candidate will pursue postdoctoral research in group actions, geometric structures, and smooth dynamics in the research group of Prof. K. Melnick, within the Department of Mathematics at the University of Luxembourg. She or he is expected to actively contribute to the scientific activities of the research group, including participation in seminars, workshops, conferences, and collaborative research initiatives.

In addition to conducting high-level research, the postdoctoral researcher will support the teaching mission of the Department of Mathematics through bachelor-level tutorial sessions or lectures, project supervision, or other pedagogical activities, within the framework of the university's teaching policy, up to 90 hours per year. The candidate may also contribute to outreach and dissemination activities aimed at promoting mathematics and research to the broader academic community and the public.

Your profile

  • Recent Ph.D. in Mathematics, with a focus on differential geometry, transformation groups, or smooth dynamical systems
  • Outstanding research record, relative to career stage, in a related domain
  • Ability to teach in English or French
