About the role...

The successful candidates will join the Services and Data Management (SEDAN) research group at SnT. SEDAN conducts research in data analytics and machine learning, with established strengths in FinTech, the security of blockchain and decentralized finance, and the security of networking, vehicular networks, and cloud infrastructures. The group's work also extends to the mathematical foundations of AI, AI cybersecurity and cybersecurity for AI, and agentic reliability engineering.

  • Develop novel research directions aligned with SEDAN's research priorities
  • Propose and implement innovative, concrete solutions and deliver impactful results
  • Disseminate results through scientific publications and, where relevant, patents or open-source software
  • Support the setup and running of experiments and benchmarks
  • Participate in proposal writing and project reporting
  • Collaborate with academic and industrial partners
  • Participate in organizing workshops and demonstrations
  • Participate in outreach activities to promote the group's research

Your profile...

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related field
  • A strong interest in machine learning, AI, security, reliability, and the latest technologies
  • Strong programming skills in Python or other programming languages
  • Interest in one or more of the group's research areas: data analytics and ML for FinTech, security of blockchain and decentralised finance, security of networking, vehicular networks and cloud, mathematical foundations of AI, AI cybersecurity and cybersecurity for AI, or agentic reliability engineering
  • Experience with sound software engineering practices: version control, testing, reproducible experiments is an asset

Academic Eligibility (Thesis):
