At the University of Agder, Faculty of Health and Sport Sciences, there is a temporary 100 % position available as a postdoctoral fellow in developmental psychology for a period of three years. The position is affiliated with a Psychology faculty group, at the Department of Psychosocial Health. The position is located at Campus Kristiansand. The starting date is negotiable with the faculty.
The faculty consists of four departments: the Department of Health and Nursing Science, the Department of Nutrition and Public Health, the Department of Sport Science and Physical Education, and the Department of Psychosocial Health. The Psychology faculty group is established under the Department of Psychosocial Health. The group is responsible for the development and establishment of a new professional psychology education program at the University of Agder, and thereby for strengthening research activity within psychology. The faculty hosts both research groups and research centers relevant to various areas of expertise in psychology. The postdoctoral researcher will be affiliated with one of these, depending on the nature of their proposed post-doctoral project.
The purpose of the postdoctoral project is to contribute to the development of knowledge within developmental psychology, and the applicant is requested to prepare a project description that addresses key issues within developmental psychology as a basic discipline. Developmental psychology can be defined as the scientific study of both typical and atypical changes over time in individuals’ behavior, emotions, cognition, and social relationships.
The project description must not exceed 10 pages, including the reference list. In the description, the applicant should present and discuss potential research questions, methodological approach, and a timeline for the project. It is important that the applicant demonstrates knowledge of the research field by referencing relevant literature and previous studies, and clearly situates the project’s core idea within this context.

The position is remunerated according to the State Salary Scale, salary plan 17.510, code 1352, NOK 700 000 - 765 000 gross salary per year. Higher salary grades may be considered for particularly well-qualified applicants. A compulsory pension contribution to the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund is deducted from the pay according to current statutory provisions.
