Your Responsibilities

  • Writing a PhD thesis at the University of Graz in the field of healthcare ethics (medical ethics, nursing ethics, mental health ethics, ethics of the healthcare professions, research ethics)
  • Contributing to the department’s research projects (particularly within the context of interdisciplinary research projects on the digitalisation of healthcare and critical medical ethics)
  • Contributing to research publications 
  • Independently delivering courses and assisting with teaching and examination duties within the department 
  • Participating in and (co-)organising academic conferences and workshops

Your Profile

  • A completed degree (Diplom or Master’s) in a subject relevant to the field of healthcare ethics (philosophy, theology, social sciences) 
  • Excellent written and spoken German and English 
  • Experience in academic university life (desirable) 
  • Experience with the academic publication process (desirable) 
  • Interest in the ethical implications of the digitalisation of healthcare and/or critical medical ethics 
  • Interest in and willingness to engage in interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research 
  • High level of commitment and motivation for academic work 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, resilience, flexibility and team spirit 
  • Ability to work independently and take the initiative 
  • Strong team and organisational skills

We offer an annual gross salary of at least € 52.865,40 for a fulltime position. An overpayment based on qualification and experience is possible.
