Your Responsibilities

  • Research and publication activities within the section for Cultural and Gender History in a team-oriented environment
  • Development and implementation of a research project in the field of Gender History
  • Participation in the development and implementation of (inter-/national) research and publication projects as well as academic events
  • Participation in the acquisition of third-party funding (for research and publication projects, events, etc.)
  • Collaboration in the conception and coordination of inter-/national networking activities and research groups of the section as well as of the interdisciplinary Gender Studies
  • Independent conception and teaching of courses in the BA/MA degree programme in History and in History teacher education
  • Conducting exams and supervision of students
  • Support with the administration and organisation of the cross-faculty doctoral forum “Interdisciplinary Gender Studies”; collaboration in coordinating the lecturers, students and guests of the doctoral forum
  • Participation in public outreach activities of the section for Cultural and Gender History as well as of various university projects, cooperations and networks associated with the section
  • Participation in organisational and administrative tasks as well as evaluation measures of the department and interdisciplinary cooperations

Your Profile

  • Completed doctorate in the field of Modern Gender History and/or Contemporary History
  • Research profile in historical gender studies with a focus on the history of masculinities, war, violence, political identities, historical spatial perspectives, care relationships and/or Public History
  • Experience in working with inter- and transdisciplinary as well as cross-epochal research constellations and academic cooperations
  • International record of publications and conference presentations
  • Experience in acquiring third-party funded projects; familiarity with working in externally funded research projects
  • University teaching experience
  • Excellent written and spoken German and English
  • Experience in the conception and organisation of academic events
  • Experience in public outreach and “science-to-public” activities and/or with digital formats
  • Experience in academic self-governance (desirable)
  • Very good communication and teamwork skills, ability to deal with conflict, willingness to cooperate and learn, intercultural competence
  • High level of scholarly motivation and goal orientation as well as intellectual curiosity
  • Committed, self-responsible and goal-oriented working style
  • Reliability, accuracy and a strong sense of responsibility
  • Willingness to participate in further training measures of the University

We offer an annual gross salary of at least € 70.200,20 for a fulltime position. An overpayment based on qualification and experience is possible.
