PhD Position in the field of Physical Chemistry (m/f/d)

Your Responsibilities

• Investigation of physical and chemical processes of single molecules
• Characterization of single molecules on surfaces by scanning tunnelling microscopy
• Manipulation of functional molecules (e.g. switches or motors) on surfaces
• Writing a relvant dissertation at the University of Graz
• Independent teaching of courses and participation in teaching and examination tasks of the institute/center
• Supervision of students
• Participation in organizational and administrative tasks as well as in evaluation measures

Your Profile

• Completed master’s degree in chemistry or physics (or related subjects)
• Experience in at least one of the following areas is desired: surface science, scanning probe microscopy, ultra-high-vacuum or low-temperature techniques
• Scientific curiosity and interest in working on current research questions
• Excellent command of German and English
• Independent working style and high level of initiative
• Strong teamwork and organizational skills

We offer an annual gross salary of at least € 52.865,40 for a fulltime position. An overpayment based on qualification and experience is possible.
