At the Institute of Physics, a committed team of international scientists performs research in physics in its full range. The University of Graz and the Graz University of Technology are joining their physics institutes to form the new Graz Center of Physics. The institute covers the field of astrophysics in research and teaching, with internationally recognised research groups in solar and stellar astrophysics. The institute runs the Kanzelhöhe Observatory for Solar and Environmental Research as well as the Lustbühel Observatory Graz.
