The Faculty of Agricultural Sciences invites applications for the position of a

Full Professor (W3) of Horticultural Systems Engineering

at the Institute of Agricultural Engineering to be filled as soon as possible.

The successful candidate (m/f/d) should represent the entire breadth of the subject area in research and teaching. The professor’s research is to focus on the inter- and transdisciplinary development of climate-adapted and site-appropriate processes for innovative horticultural and crop production systems. The concentration is on digitalized and automated solutions as well as approaches for autonomous systems. The successful candidate must cooperate intensively with University of Hohenheim’s professorships of agricultural engineering, crop production, and horticulture sciences, with other institutes and facilities at the University of Hohenheim as well as with national and international research institutions. We are seeking an individual with a demonstrated history of internationally recognized research and a record of high-ranking, relevant publications in the field, as well as the capacity to acquire third-party funding.

The focus of teaching is on the B.Sc. degree program in agricultural sciences in the specializations horticulture, agricultural engineering, and digital agriculture; on the M.Sc. degree program agricultural sciences, particularly in the agricultural engineering major; and on the international M.Sc. programs. The candidate should be able to teach both in German and in English.

The position offers attractive conditions for first-time full professor appointees. Prerequisites for applicants are habilitation or an equivalent research and teaching record which may have been established during a Junior or Assistant Professorship.

The advertised position is tenured. If appointed as full professor for the first time, the University of Hohenheim reserves its right to probationary employment. With equal qualifications, preference will be given to candidates with disabilities.
