Job Description:
We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher specializing in inequalities and territorial equity to develop research on socio-spatial disparities and their impacts on access to essential services such as education, health, and infrastructure. The successful candidate will also work on analyzing and formulating innovative public policies aimed at reducing territorial divides and promoting inclusive development.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct in-depth analyses of territorial disparities and their implications for access to basic services.
Develop mapping and modeling tools to visualize socio-spatial inequalities.
Perform comparative studies on public policies designed to reduce territorial divides.
Collaborate with decision-makers and local stakeholders to formulate strategic recommendations.
Contribute to scientific publications and communicate research findings to diverse audiences.
Required Qualifications:
PhD in Geography, Urban Planning, Urban Sociology, Public Policy, or a related field.
Expertise in social and economic geography to study territorial disparities.
Understanding of key concepts such as spatial justice, socio-spatial segregation, territorial divides, and inclusive development.
Proficiency in spatial analysis to examine inequality dynamics at various scales (urban, rural, regional).
Experience analyzing systems of access to public services (education, health, infrastructure, etc.).
Experience with qualitative methods (surveys, interviews, focus groups) to gather community perspectives.
In-depth knowledge of the political and institutional frameworks affecting territorial equity.
Ability to assess the impact of existing public policies on territorial inequalities and propose data-driven recommendations.
Personal and Organizational Qualities:
Aptitude for translating complex data into actionable insights for research and decision-making.
Proven ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams comprising urban planners, technologists, and policymakers.
Demonstrated capacity to produce high-level publications and present research findings at international conferences.
