Job Description
We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher specializing in digital twins to develop innovative solutions for monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing urban systems in real time. The candidate will contribute to modeling interactions between physical and digital infrastructures to enhance energy management, transportation networks, and urban sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement digital twins to monitor and optimize urban systems, including infrastructure, mobility, and energy management.
- Integrate real-time data from sensors and IoT devices to develop dynamic models.
- Model complex interactions between physical systems (infrastructure) and digital systems (software, platforms).
- Develop decision-support tools based on simulations for public and private stakeholders.
- Contribute to scientific publications and establish partnerships with public, private, and academic institutions.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in one of the following fields: smart urban systems engineering, computer science applied to urban infrastructure, data science, or a related field.
- Expertise in numerical modeling and simulation for urban systems.
- Proficiency in digital twin tools and platforms such as AnyLogic, Unity, MATLAB/Simulink, or AWS IoT TwinMaker.
- Experience in integrating real-time data for dynamic urban system modeling.
- In-depth knowledge of IoT sensor networks for collecting and analyzing urban data (traffic, energy consumption, environment).
- Strong skills in integrating IoT devices into complex digital systems.
- Advanced expertise in machine learning and artificial intelligence for predictive and prescriptive urban data analysis.
- Experience in visualizing and analyzing spatial and functional interactions within urban infrastructure.

- Ability to model complex systems and identify optimal solutions.
- Strong analytical skills to translate complex data into actionable insights for research and decision-making.
