Job description

We are currently seeking a Research Engineer to join a collaborative project focused on testing stormwater treatment solutions and implementing real-time water quality monitoring in a pilot plant. This initiative is a joint effort involving the Central Baltic countries, including municipalities and research institutes.

The research will encompass a variety of tasks, including mapping risk assessment criteria for the catchment area and municipality, as well as evaluating stormwater treatment solutions. The role will involve water quality analysis and management, modeling, and calculations. Effective communication between stakeholders will be crucial, as well as engaging with social and community aspects related to water management.

As part of the WaterShed Safety Plan (WSSP) project, we aim to provide municipalities, water utilities, and other relevant stakeholders with a practical operational model for watershed safety plans. These plans are designed to mitigate the flow of diffuse pollution into the Baltic Sea.

The pilot catchment area will be comprehensively assessed using Geographic Information System (GIS) tools and field methods to identify high-risk zones, allowing us to target and implement effective, sustainable water protection measures. We are particularly interested in integrating an online monitoring device to validate the stormwater treatment solutions developed within the scope of this project.
