YOUR TASKS

You will assist with the department’s practice-oriented teaching activities (organisation, supervision and assessment of practical exercises and tutorials), with a particular focus on the course Quantitative Analysis (second-year Bachelor’s programme in Political Science).

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • You hold a degree of Master in Political Science, Sociology, Psychology, or related disciplines. The degree requirement needs to be fulfilled at the start of your appointment
  • For diplomas awarded outside the European Union, a certificate of equivalence (NARIC) must be submitted
  • You are involved in other professional activities and/or you have demonstrable experience that may contribute to the quality of the practice-based teaching at the department
  • You have an interest in teaching the course Quantitative Analysis.
  • You have an interest in statistical analyses, possess in-depth knowledge in this area, and are able to independently and confidently conduct statistical analyses.
  • You are familiar with SPSS and R.
  • You have strong teaching skills.
  • You are fluent in Dutch, the language of instruction of the course Quantitative Analysis.
  • You have an interest in academic and/or project-based research and professional services, particularly within the field of Political Science.
  • Teaching experience and participation in professional development activities, conferences, etc. are considered an asset.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

  • We offer you a an appointment till 30 September 2028. Attention: You cannot be appointed for a cumulative percentage of more than 30% as a Teaching Assistant at Ghent University
  • Your appointment will start as soon as possible
  • Your remuneration will be determined according to salary scale AAP3. More information about our salary scales

  • For diplomas awarded in the UK before January 31st of 2020, a certificate of equivalence is not required
