YOUR TASKS 

  • You will assist in the practice-based teaching at the department (i.e. organization, counselling and assessment of practical exercises and seminars), specifically the course Applied Policy Analysis (Ba2 Political Sciences)

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • You hold a degree of Master in Political Sciences, Sociology, Psychology, or equivalent. The degree requirement needs to be fulfilled at the start of your appointment
  • For diplomas awarded outside the European Union, a certificate of equivalence (NARIC) must be submitted
  • You are involved in other professional activities and/or you have demonstrable experience that may contribute to the quality of the practice-based teaching at the department
  • You have an interest in teaching the course Applied Policy Analysis.
  • You have strong teaching skills.
  • You are fluent in Dutch, the language of instruction of the course Applied Policy Analysis.
  • You have an interest in academic and/or project-based research and professional services, particularly within the field of Political Science.
  • Teaching experience and participation in professional development activities, conferences, etc. are considered an asset.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

  • We offer you an appointment until 30 September 2028, which will not be renewed. Attention: You cannot be appointed for a cumulative percentage of more than 30% as a Teaching Assistant at Ghent University
  • Your appointment normally starts on 1 October 2026
  • Your remuneration will be determined according to salary scale AAP3. More information about our salary scales

  • For diplomas awarded in the UK before January 31st of 2020, a certificate of equivalence is not required
