YOUR TASKS

• The person will be responsible for performing preliminary preparatory biotechnological work and the writing of the project ‘Additional finetuning of an intranasal vector vaccine against equine herpesvirus-1 related diseases (respiratory problems, abortion and central nervous disorders) and other major infectious diseases in horses’ that will be submitted to the IOF (Industrieel Onderzoeksfonds; Industrial Research Fund) at the UGent.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• You hold a Master’s degree in Biotechnology or Bioscience Engineering or equivalent.
• You have extended experience with molecular work, more specifically with viral mutagenesis such as CRISPR-Cas, and cell biological work, more specifically the preparation of primary cells and their infection with virus.
• You have experience with the performance of animal experiments in horses.
• You have experience with writing projects.
• You can work in a team.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU 

• We offer you a contract of definite duration for the period of 4 months (September, Oktober, November and December 2026).
• Your contract will start on 1/09/2026 at the earliest.
