YOUR TASKS

The Database, Document and Content Management (DDCM) research group of the Department Telecommunications and Information Processing (EA07) of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at Ghent University is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Postdoctoral Researcher. Our team conducts both fundamental and applied research on computational intelligence in information management and decision support.

As a postdoctoral researcher, you will play a central role in designing, conducting, and publishing cutting-edge research on neuro-symbolic decision support techniques, with a particular focus on explainability and trust in automated decision-making.

  • You conduct independent and innovative scientific research within the outlined research area.
  • You assist in the supervision of PhD students.
  • You publish research findings in leading peer-reviewed journals and present results at international conferences.
  • You actively contribute to the preparation of research proposals and the acquisition of external research funding.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR 

  • You hold a PhD in Informatics or Computer Science.
  • You have a strong publication record relevant to the research area.
  • You demonstrate excellent research skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Experience with Python is considered an asset.
  • You have an excellent command of spoken and written English.
  • You are a team player with strong communication skills.
