Description of the research activity:

Research activities to be carried out in the framework of the CEREALP project, which promotes the Alpine cereal value chain by setting up an IT-CH cross-border service centre to offer mountain farmers: both solutions for mechanisation in the field and indications on the performance of the entire cereal chain up to processed products (with integrated economic, operational and environmental assessments). A large part of the project activities will focus on the development and testing of retrofit solutions for agricultural machinery for cereal production in Alpine regions. The activities will take place at the Agroforestry Innovations Laboratory (AFI-Lab) of unibz, at the NOI Techpark in Bozen/Bolzano, and will involve close collaboration with both Italian (Vinschgau Valley) and Swiss (Canton Valais) partners, all of which are in turn connected to local networks of mountain farmers, predominantly German-speaking.
