JOB /OFFER DESCRIPTION 

The postdoctoral position is part of a research team in holomorphic dynamics, based in Marseille and Barcelona. It works on a broad range of topics within holomorphic dynamics and its interactions with other areas of mathematics. The key topics in this project include: (1) transcendental dynamics (iteration of transcendental maps); (2) Thurston theory (geometrization of topological structure in low dimension); (3) iterative root finding methods (including the methods of Newton, Weierstrass-Durand-Kerner, and Ehrlich-Aberth, in theory and practice); and (4) symbolic dynamics and rigidity (distinction of different orbits, and different dynamical systems, in combinatorial terms).

WHAT WE OFFER: 
Gross monthly salary from 2600 euros to 3000 euros, depending on previous experience.

QUALIFICATIONS, REQUIRED RESEARCH FIELDS, REQUIRED EDUCATION LEVEL, PROFESSIONAL SKILLS, OTHER RESEARCH REQUIREMENTS 
The ideal candidate has an excellent PhD in this or a related area, and brings strong experience and/or interest in at least two of the mentioned project topics. Moreover, the postdoc should participate in the mentoring of students at PhD level and younger, and should thus ideally have mentoring experience. 

Soft skills: Skills in English or French language.
