A grant for a 1-year position is available for a Research Fellow at the Molecular Imaging Center headed by Prof. Silvio Aime (www.cim.unito.it) - University of Torino (Torino, Italy) starting June 2021.
Environment
The successfull applicant will work in a stimulating interdisciplinary environment at the Molecular Imaging Center (www.cim.unito.it) of the University of Torino, Dept. of Molecular Biotechnology and Health Sciences (DBMSS), an interdisciplinary research center dedicated to develop imaging-based approaches for understanding the fundamental biology underlying diseases and for improving diagnosis and monitoring treatment effects in several diseases (cancer, inflammation, diabetes, neurodegeneration and cardiovascular diseases). Our imaging center offers an extraordinary range of services and instrumentations, covering biology, biotechnology, medicine, imaging and image processing/analysis.
The Molecular Imaging Center is coordinating the Multi-Modal Molecular Imaging Italian Node (MMMI) of Euro-BioImaging ERIC (EuBI), the European Research Infrastructure for Imaging Technologies in Biological and Biomedical Sciences that provides open, physical user access to a broad range of state-of-the-art technologies in biological and biomedical imaging for life scientists (http://www.eurobioimaging.eu/). It is also involved in EuBI coordinating the activities of the Hub section devoted to medical imaging (Med-Hub).
Position Highlight
We are seeking a highly motivated Full-Stack Developer interested in deploying a federated architecture in the cloud to enable discovery and reuse of biomedical image datasets.
Key responsibilities will include the development of a cloudified service based on XNAT (https://www.xnat.org/), an open-source imaging informatics platform that is one of the most popular system for data management and widely used by several biomedical imaging centers. The candidate will have key responsibilities in coordinating the work of image datasets management by interacting with the several imaging centers within EuroBioImaging at both national and European level. The candidate will be strongly involved in the Open Science process by deploying Open Source software components that will provide to European researchers Open Access to both preclinical and clinical images datasets and standardized image processing tools.
The successful candidate will join an international lab in a multidisciplinary working environment with access to state-of-the-art technologies covering several imaging modalities.
