Postdoc position (f/m/x) - Faculty of Arts and Humanities Department of Philosophy | CONCEPT

The University of Cologne houses the Cologne Center for Contemporary Epistemology and the Kantian Tradition (CONCEPT). The center has been founded in 2016 and is led by Prof. Sven Bernecker. CONCEPT is built on the premise that contemporary epistemology and epistemology in the classical German tradition both benefit from the crossfertilization of ideas and methods. The postdoc position is embedded in a team of philosophers who work closely together.

YOUR TASKS

• The successful candidate pursues a research project in at least one of the areas listed above and works closely with the other members of CONCEPT
• Support in the planning and implementation of conferences, lecture series, and grant applications
• Preparation and participation in internal workshops/conferences/reading groups
• Correspondence to initiate and/or pursue cooperations with scientific institutions nationally and abroad

YOUR PROFILE

• The applicant must have a Ph.D. in philosophy and must have contemporary epistemology as an area of specialization. ABD (“all but dissertation”) candidates will be considered if the degree is conferred by 01.08.2024
• Research communication skills and new media literacy are desirable.
• Experience in grant writing is also desirable

The position is available immediately on a full-time basis (39,83 hours per week). The position is limited to 36 months and can be extended for a further 36 months. If the applicant meets the relevant wage requirements and personal qualifications, the salary is based on remuneration group 13 TV-L of the pay scale for the German public sector.
