LINKS is a Foundation born from an agreement between Compagnia di San Paolo and Politecnico di Torino counting more than 160 researchers, a yearly turnaround of around 17M€, multiple collaborations with national and international Academies and Research Centers, a very strong presence in European and numerous collaborations with the business sector.
Researchers at the Foundation master technical-scientific disciplines in several areas of engineering and architecture such as, for example, Artificial Intelligence, Smart Data, IoT, Photonics and Satellite Localization to carry out innovative projects in application sectors ranging from Industry 4.0 to Cybersecurity, from Intelligent Mobility to Agritech, from Space Applications to Medicine and Well Being, from Smart Cities to Cultural Heritage.
Leveraging its research and innovation competences, with the goal of contributing to the growth of the socio-economic system, became the ambitious mission of LINKS, put in practice by working on large-scale projects with significant impact on the territory, and establishing a dialogue with the national and international entrepreneurial community with the goal of sharing and enhancing knowledge, experience and innovation.
The Urban Mobility & Logistic systems (UML) research area of LINKS Foundation supports private companies and public administrations to bring innovation and sustainability in people mobility and freight transport, through a multidisciplinary approach. Our competences allow us to support the client throughout the process of applying innovation to transport: from transport analysis and studies to supporting the elaboration of actions and policies, from transport modelling and scenario simulation to impacts estimation and assessment.
The candidate will work at mobility and logistics projects aimed at studying and optimizing traffic flows, transport and logistic systems considering the impact of increasing levels of innovation. Most of the projects will be aimed at elaborating and developing algorithms using Python programming language in order optimize goods delivery and logistic processes of single transport companies or collaborative logistics clusters, thus increasing their efficiency and sustainability. The work will be included in the framework of European projects with international partners coming from premier companies.
