Ca’ Foscari is looking for a researcher of Chemistry for the Environment and for Cultural Heritage capable of inspiring students to become game-changers in their own fields and to make a genuine difference in the world.
The position is at the Department of Environmental Sciences, Informatics and Statistics.
The Department (DAIS) was created after combining three departments (Environmental Sciences, Informatics and Statistics); it is engaged in multidisciplinary research, carried out by brilliant researchers in the fields of environmental systems analysis, management and modelization of environmental and informatic systems, climate studies, complexity, preservation of cultural heritage and sustainability.
The outstanding research activity generates a significant impact on educational activities, as exemplified by the number of programmes we offer such as Environmental Sciences, Informatics, Conservation Science and Technology for Cultural Heritage, as well as a multidisciplinary PhD programme in Science and Management of Climate Change.
Teaching: Curricular and supplementary teaching in the three-year, master's and doctoral degrees, and student orientation activities.
Teaching: “Physico-chemical characterization and risk assessment of engineered nanomaterials in the environment”.
Lines of research to be developed:
1. Development of frameworks and tools for risk governance of nanotechnology integrating exposure and effect characterization (incl. data quality assessment) in human health and environmental risk assessment with environmental impact assessments (e.g. LCA) along the lifecycle of products and processes
2. Assessment of innovative products applied in different sectors (including the conservation of artworks) to check whether they address human and environmental safety and sustainability criteria, according to the most recent regulations and requirements by interested stakeholders (e.g. art conservator, museums).
